HVA vs Concord Christian vs Anderson Co.

    Good Afternoon,

I hope everyone is having a great week and is excited about a Saturday Halloween! We would love to see everyone dressed up for a fun Halloween practice on Monday November 1st! There may be candy for those who are there.

We are also excited about our second meet of the season this Sunday, November 1st! It will a tri-meet against Concord Christian School and Anderson County. I am including some information about this meet today.

    VOLUNTEERS

We still need volunteers for this meet. If you have not already, please go an volunteer for a position through Swimtopia. We quite literally could not run the meet without all of your help! Thank you!

    ENTRIES

Entries will not be finalized until Friday afternoon and a second email will be sent out with the heat sheet as soon as it is available.

At the meet, there will be a sheet posted on the wall that shows each athlete all of their events, heats, and lanes. Coaches and Captains will also have a heat sheet to assist anyone who needs some help understanding what their events are. Both of these sheets will be send via email ahead of time for families who wish to look at it or print one out for themselves.

    CHECK-IN

Swimmers should all check-in with Coach Robbie or Coach Kassidy when they arrive. Volunteers should all check-in with our volunteer coordinator, Jennifer Whaley, when they arrive.

    WARMUPS

We will have second warmups from 1:20-1:55. We will start with stretches out of the water from 1:20-1:35 lead by our captains, and then have an in water warmup from 1:35-1:55. The meet will begin at 2:00.

    LOCATION

We will be at the same location as last meet, the 10 lane pool side of Allan Jones Aquatic Center. Parking is the same, there is street parking available along Volunteer BLVD and parking on the upper level of G7 as well.

    SPECTATORS

Spectating is free and we love having a strong cheering section for our team. We encourage all families to stay until the conclusion of the meet in order to cheer on their teammates. High school and Middle School meets are shorter than most other meets and the most competitive races tend to be at the end. Swimmers are allowed and encouraged to cheer from the sides of the pool for their team (as long as the do not get in an official's way).

    PRE/POST RACE

Swimmers should come talk to the coaches before and/or after their races so that we can talk about what went well and what can be improved on. We also need swimmers to be aware of what races are in the water so that we do not miss events. At these meets, there should be 0 missed races as swimmers are sitting on deck next to the pool.

    CAPS

If you have not received a HVA swim cap this season, please see Coach Robbie on Sunday or at practice so you may get one.

Thank you all and I look forward to seeing everyone soon! Please reach out with any questions or concerns.
