Hello Parents!  For those that do not know me, my name is Nick Hall.  I am involved in swim officiating in East TN and have become so at all levels, GKAISA, KISL and USA Swim.  I'll be refereeing most of our meets this year.  Officiating swim meets is a very rewarding experience.  I have the chance to interact with these fantastic kids and get to watch them compete from the edge of the pool.  By being involved at this level I also like to think that I am supporting my kids along with all of the competitors and helping to ensure everyone has a fair and equitable race.

Now, why would I be telling you this?  We need help!  Hardin Valley Swim lost three great Officials last year to graduation and attrition.  As of now, we do not have enough Officials to run our own meets.  Lucky enough, it is easy to become an Official - all you need to do is to attend a KISL Officials clinic and take the test.  I have attached the schedule for clinics to this email - the first of which I am hosting tonight at my office.  The test is online on the KISL website - and is open book!

I know we have several GKAISA Officials amongst our parent ranks.  You'll still need to attend a KISL clinic and take the test.  If you are already a USA Swimming Official you'll also need to attend a clinic but the test will be waived.  The current list of certified KISL Officials is attached here as well for your reference.  If you think you should be on this list and are not please email Tom Schumann at [email protected].
